Update 31 March 2021

Thank you to those that took part in the consultation on Kent’s Strategy for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities 2021-2024. The Consultation Report is now available in the Summary of Results section below. The new strategy will be available on Kent.gov soon.

We’re keen to hear your views and opinions about our new special educational needs and disabilities strategy for children and young people in Kent.

The strategy sets out our ambitions to make sure that all children in Kent have equal access to support and education that meets their unique needs and that they and their families are supported to live their best life.

It also explains how we will shape our services for children and their families in a way that improves wellbeing, resilience and learning in our communities.

We have developed the strategy jointly with the NHS and in partnership with children and young people, parents and carers, Kent PACT and other key stakeholders.

What happens after the consultation?

Following the consultation your responses will be analysed and compiled into a consultation report, which will help produce the final version of Kent’s Strategy for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities 2021-2024.
The Strategy will then go through our decision-making process for approval.

The consultation report, EqIA and final Strategy will be available on this page and on kent.gov.uk.
