Thank you to everyone who responded to this consultation. A copy of the document prepared for the Maidstone area is available to view in the 'Summary of Results' section below.

Further information and copies of the documents for all areas are available on www.kent.gov.uk.

Please note: These are living documents and will be periodically reviewed and revised as any relevant new information or plans become available.

This Flood Risk to Communities document provides a summary of flood risk and its management for local communities within Maidstone. It describes the roles and responsibilities of the Risk Management Authorities, and provides an overview of the various plans and strategies in place for Flood Risk Management across the district; it is not a strategy for flood risk management itself.

The purpose of the document is to provide a single reference point for significant flood risk in the area, who manages it and links to documents that contain more details if more information is needed. We hope that this will help to improve local communities’ understanding of flood risk and how it is managed and who to approach for more information.

This document uses the best available data to provide a summary of flood risk across the district; it also provides an outline of the work being undertaken or planned to reduce the risk.

This will be a living document, with further iterations produced to reflect significant changes.

We welcome your input and would appreciate any observations you may have on the content of this document. Your feedback will be used to help finalise the Flood Risk to Communities document. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact us on flood@kent.gov.uk

The Maidstone draft document can be downloaded from the 'Consultation Documents' section below.

Please provide any feedback by the 28 April 2016 using the online questionnaire (via the 'Respond to this Consultation' section below).
