We would like to hear your views on wellbeing services that are provided in the community.

Kent County Council (KCC) is seeking people’s views on the future of community-based wellbeing services for older people, adults living with dementia, physical disabilities or sensory impairments.

The council spends £5.9m on these services each year, across 52 voluntary and community organisations. This funds services such as befriending, volunteer run transport schemes, dementia cafés, support services for people with sensory impairment and peer support for people with physical disabilities

KCC recognises although there is a good range of services and support, they are not always joined up. The council aims to create a new service model designed to make sure everybody has the opportunity for their wellbeing needs to be met, wherever they live in the county and whatever a person’s ability.

The new model would deliver wellbeing services that are easier to access, better connected and focused on the things people have told the council are important to them.

Feedback to the consultation will be used to develop the service model that will be implemented in a phased approach from July 2020.

An event for providers of wellbeing services is being held in Maidstone on 28th October. Providers wishing to attend should see the Kent Business Portal for further information.

The consultation runs for eight weeks, closing on 1st December 2019.
