Update January 2017

The draft strategy, updated based on the consultation feedback we received in 2016, was considered by the Environment & Transport Cabinet Committee on 12 January 2017.  The Committee endorsed the proposed strategy and the Cabinet Member will soon be taking the decision to formally adopt it, after which the final strategy will be published.

KCC is grateful to all those who responded to the consultation.  For more information about how people responded and how we took those views into account, please read the consultation report available from the 'Summary of Results' section below.

Original Consultation Text

KCC is consulting on its draft Waste Disposal Strategy 2017-35, which sets out our current position, identifies the future pressures and presents the Ambition and Priorities for the household waste disposal service.

We are keen to know what you think about the overarching ambition of the Strategy, the key priorities involved and the specific objectives we have set out.  We welcome any comments or concerns that will help us improve the Strategy before KCC moves forward to implementation, supported by further public consultation in 2017.

It is recommended that the draft Strategy is read in conjunction with the detailed evidence base.
