(WOULDHAM ROAD/PILGRIMS WAY, WOULDHAM)

               (7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2019

 

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

 

The Kent County Council in exercise of the powers under Sections 1, 2 and 3(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act of 1984), as amended, and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984, hereby make the following Order:-

The general effect of this Order is to prevent any goods vehicles with a maximum permissible laden weight of which exceeds 7.5 tonne to proceed in those lengths of road specified in the Schedule of the Order. Exemptions are provided in the Order for; access to land & properties, permit holders, vehicles engaged agricultural activities, emergency services, authorities in pursuance of statutory powers and vehicles engaged in such building operations as maintenance, improvement or demolition. Full details of the exemptions are provided in the articles of the Order.

Roads subject to a 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction including all roads confined by the roads stated in the table below

 

Wouldham Road; from its boundary with Medway Council for a distance of 25 metres in a south-westerly direction.

Pilgrims Way; from a point 38 metres north of the property line of Ivy Cottage for a distance of 25 metres in a north-easterly direction.

The Order was made on 20 May and its provisions will come into effect on 27 May 2019.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
