(20MPH, 30MPH, 40MPH, 50MPH SPEED LIMITS AND DERESTRICTED ROADS)

AMENDMENT NO.37 ORDER 2019

 

Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as local traffic authority and in exercise of its powers under sections 81, 82, 83 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as the Act) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the said Act of 1984, hereby make the following order.

The effect of the made Order is to amend the current 60MPH speed limit to a 50MPH speed limit on the following length of road:-

To decrease the 60mph to a 50mph speed limit on Ashford Road (A20) Lenham from a point 40 metres northeast of its junction with Hubbards Hill to a point 37 metres west of driveway of Harperley Cottage. Dickley Lane On both sides of the access entrances from the junction with Ashford Road to a point in line with the north-western property boundary of Dickley Court. Faversham Road 15 metres south and 19 metres north of the junction with Ashford Road. Ham Lane from the junction with The Cloisters to the junction with Ashford Road. Hubbards Hill from its junction with Ashford Road for a distance of 14 metres in a northerly direction. Maidstone Road from the junction with Ashford Road to a point 43 metres northwest of the junction with Swadelands Close. Old Ashford Road from the junction with Ashford Road to a point 76 metres east of the junction with Glebe Gardens. Pilgrims Way from the junction with Ashford Road northwards for a distance of 10 metres.

The Order was made on 8 July 2019 and its provisions will come into effect on 15 July 2019.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
