In 2017 Central Government announced an initiative to provide capital funding to local authorities to support the provision of SEND places. Kent was allocated £6,577,964, over three financial years 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21.

In 2019, Government announced further funding, with Kent receiving an extra £4,589,277 taking the total received to £11,167,240*.

The consultation document outlines the progress of the planned projects identified in the initial round of allocation and consults interested parties on the proposed projects to be funded by the additional allocation.

This consultation document is part of a wider consultation process. All responses to the consultation will be considered before the final plans are set as to how we will invest the increased allocation.
