Update March 2019

Thank you for taking the time to respond to our admissions arrangements for all Community and Voluntary Controlled schools for intake in September 2020/21. KCC Cabinet has reviewed the responses and a decision has been made. Please find below a summary of the consultation responses, along with the final primary and secondary admissions arrangements.

Kent County Council is consulting on its proposed admissions arrangements for all Community and Voluntary Controlled schools for intake in September 2020/21. The proposal includes a new criterion to provide priority to children adopted from outside of England, in line with Nick Gibb’s request in November 2017. The open letter can be found below in the consultation document section.

We propose to add this new criterion to the admission arrangements immediately after the current “Children in Local Authority Care or Previously in Local Authority Care” criterion, meaning this is the second priority by which admissions will be considered.

In addition, we are proposing to make other changes to the following school’s admission arrangements:

  • St Peters CE Primary School – Introduction of a new priority zone (see proposed primary admission code document)
  • Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys – Adjust current priority zone to account for recent changes to parish boundaries (see proposed secondary admission code document)

The consultation of the proposed changes will run until 10 December 2018. All documents can be found below and responses can be submitted via the online questionnaire.

All responses will be collated and presented to Kent County Council's Cabinet for a decision.

Once determined the final admission arrangements will be placed on our website at http://

This consultation closes at midnight on 10 December 2018.
