Pilgrims Way Primary School and the Veritas Multi-Academy Trust are proposing to increase the Published Admission Number of Pilgrim Way Primary School from 45 to 60. This will add 15 reception places per year from September 2021, increasing over subsequent years to a total capacity of 420 school places for years R to 6.

Kent County Council is the Strategic Commissioner of Education Provision and Kent has a duty to ensure that sufficient school places are available to meet demand. The Commissioning Plan for Education Provision sets out Kent’s commissioning intentions and is revised annually. The forecasts show increase demand in Canterbury for Primary School places from new housing in the local area. One strategy for providing additional school places is to expand existing schools.  The Academy Trust board of Pilgrims Way Primary School have agreed to consult on a proposal to expand the school by the addition of a 15 places per school year.

The Academy Trust at Pilgrims Way are bringing forward this proposal with the support of the staff and governors and Kent County Council (KCC), as the Strategic Commissioner of Education Provision in the County.
