(TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2018

 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

 Notice is hereby given that the Kent County Council acting as the local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3) and 4(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following Order: -

  • The Kent County Council’s above-named Order has amended the days of the week the PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AT SPECIFIED TIMES apply to include Sundays in the following roads or lengths of roads in Faversham.

 

  • 10:00am to 4:00pm Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays

COURT STREET; from the junction with Crescent Road to the junction with Market Place.

MARKET PLACE (both arms); south eastwards towards Market Street

 

MARKET STREET; south eastwards towards Preston Street.

 

 

MIDDLE ROW - for the entire length

WEST STREET – from the junction with Market Place to a point in line with the boundary of 121 and 122 West Street.

 

  • The above-named Order has retained the existing PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AT ALL TIMES restrictions in the following roads or lengths of roads in Faversham.

WEST STREET; Faversham, which extends from its junction with South Road and North Lane to a point in line with boundary of 121 and 122 West Street.

 

 

  • The above-named Order has retained the ONE-WAY STREET restrictions in the following roads or lengths of roads in Faversham.

 

COURT STREET; between its junction with Crescent Road and its junction with Market Place, (South-westwards towards Market Place).

MARKET PLACE (both arms); south eastwards towards Market Street,

MARKET STREET; south eastwards towards Preston Street,

EAST STREET; from its junction with Newton Road to its junction with Market Street.

PRESTON STREET; from its junction with East Street to its junction with Stone Street, (south-westwards towards Stone Street).

  • The above-named Order has retained the existing PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN restrictions in the following roads or lengths of roads in Faversham.

CRESCENT ROAD; Faversham, proceeding southwards to make a right turn into East Street.

PRESTON STREET; Faversham, proceeding southwards to make a right turn into Stone Street.

A copy of the Order, statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, a map indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the Order may be examined on Mondays to Friday at The Kent County Council, Sessions House, Maidstone, ME14 1XQ and at The Kent County Council, Highway, Transportation & Waste, Ashford Highway Depot, Henwood Industrial Estate, Unit 4 Javelin Way, Ashford, Kent TN24 8AD during normal office hours or downloaded from the consultation document section below.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement in relation to the Orders.
