Due to a rise in the population in Gravesend there is increasing demand for school places and Kent County Council (KCC) has asked Mayfield Grammar School to provide additional secondary school places by increasing its PAN to 210 from September 2021.  The Governing Body of the school have therefore agreed to carry out a public consultation on the proposal to permanently expand the school.

http://www.kent.gov.uk/about-the-council/strategies-and-policies/education-skills-and-employment-policies/education-provision.

It is anticipated that there will be significant short and medium-term pressure for additional Year 7 places in the Gravesham and Longfield Selective Planning Group which indicates that additional capacity will be needed for 2021 and in subsequent years.

Therefore, KCC has asked Mayfield Grammar School to provide additional places for local children by expanding the school.
