Update August 2017 - Final Plan published

Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation on our Local Transport Plan 4. The Plan has now been adopted and can be downloaded from the Strategies and Policies pages on our website.

Update June 2017 - You said, We did.

We asked for your views on our draft LTP4, in particular the strategy part of the document (the ambition and supporting outcomes) and our priorities for transport at strategic, countywide and local level.  Your suggestions have helped us to make changes to the Plan, including strengthening the links to other KCC policies and the policies of other organisations, and making some sections clearer.  We also had many suggestions for new priorities and have been able to incorporate some of those into the revised Plan.

The Plan was passed by Environment and Transport Cabinet Committee in March and is going to County Council on 13th July for adoption.

A copy of the 'You Said, We Did' Feedback Report can be found in the Consultation Documents section below.

Update January 2017 – Consultation Response Report

Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation for our draft Local Transport Plan 4.  We consulted for 12 weeks from August 8th until October 30th 2016 and received 548 responses.

The consultation showed general agreement with the draft Local Transport Plan 4, particularly the Ambition, Outcomes and Supporting Policies. The named transport priorities in the plan at all levels (strategic, Kent-wide and district) also received a greater extent of support than disagreement. The Consultation Report summarising the results of the consultation is now available to download from the ‘Summary of Results’ section below.

There were many comments on the draft plan and suggestions for new transport priorities, which are all being considered for inclusion in the revised Local Transport Plan 4. The revised plan will be presented to Environment and Transport Cabinet Committee in March 2017, after which it will be presented to Cabinet for recommendation to County Council.

Kent County Council (KCC) has a legal duty to produce a Local Transport Plan. This document demonstrates to Kent’s residents and local businesses our strategies and priorities to make sure transport is playing its part in making Kent a great place to live, work and do business.

The Plan highlights our priority schemes that are nationally important, such as a new Lower Thames Crossing and a solution to Operation Stack, as well as priority local schemes across Kent. Investment in our infrastructure is vital to boost Kent’s economy and support a growing population.
