Following the End of the Public Notice period in regard to this proposal The Cabinet Member for Education and Skills has resolved that his decision of 20 March 2020 should stand.  Therefore, the proposal will be implemented from September 2020.

April 2020 update

Following the Children’s, Young People and Education Cabinet Committee meeting of 11 March 2020 the Cabinet Member for Education and Skill resolved to issue a public notice in regard to the change of age range at Goldwyn School from 11-16 years to 11-18 years  and to increase the designated number from 115 places to 195 places (35 key stage 3/4 and 45 post-16).

Within four weeks from the date of publication, any person may send in a response supporting, objecting or commenting on the proposal to David Adams, Area Education Officer, Kroner House, Eurogate Business Park, Ashford, Kent TN24 8XU; or email school.consultations@kent.gov.uk.

The final date for sending in written representations is midnight 18 May 2020.

This consultation is now closed. 

Kent County Council (KCC) would like to hear your views on a proposal to change the age range at Goldwyn School, Ashford from 11-16 years to 11-18 years in order to add sixth form provision and to increase the designated number by 80 places (35 key stage 3/4 and 45 post-16). 

If you wish to find out more an information drop-in session will be held at Goldwyn School, Godinton Lane, Ashford TN23 3BT, on Monday 20 January between 4.00pm and 5.30pm. KCC Officers and staff from Goldwyn will be available to answer any questions you may have.
