Introduction

The effect of the proposed named Order will introduce to reduce the national speed limit and to extend the 50MPH speed limit in Maidstone on the following length of road:-

Detling Hill, Maidstone – To reduce the national speed limit and extend the current 50MPH speed limit at both ends. The whole limit will be from a point 120 metres from the Junction 7 Traffic Island to a point 93 metres east of the entrance to the Kent County Showground.

The Kent County Council as traffic authority propose to make the Order referred to above and as shown on the drawing accompanying this document for the following reasons :-

  • For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
