Introduction

The effect of the Order would be to reduce the current speed limit to 30mph in Sittingbourne on the following lengths of roads:-

Canterbury Road - from a point 150 metres east of its junction with Vincent Road to its junction with Fox Hill. The Street – from its junction with School Lane to its junction with Hempstead Lane. Fox Hill - for its entire length.

The Order was made on 6 August 2020 and its provisions will come into effect on 10 August 2020.

The Kent County Council as traffic authority hereby make the Order referred to above and as shown on the drawing accompanying this document due to a new housing development and for the following reasons :-

  • to reduce the speed limit to 30mph
  • avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising;
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.
