Introduction

The effect of the proposed Order is to reduce the current speed limit on the following lengths of roads in Westerham, Sevenoaks:- 
Atterbury Close, Bartlett Road, Black Eagle Close, Buckham Thorns Road, Costells Meadow, Croft Road, Darenth Gardens, Delagarde Road, Farley Croft, Farley Nursery, Granville Road, Hollingworth Way, Lodge Lane, Market Way, Market Square, Marwell, New Street, Quebec Avenue, Rysted Lane, Squerryes Mede, The Green, The Paddock, Wells Close, Westbury Terrace, Westways ,Croydon Road , High street,  London Road, Vicarage Hill, Farley Lane, Quebec Square, Brasted Road, Croydon Road, London Road, Vicarage Hill.

The Kent County Council as traffic authority intends to make the Order referred to above and as shown on the drawing accompanying this document for the following reasons :-

  • Avoid the danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising;
  • The reduction of the speed limit is to provide a safer route to and from the schools and for the safety of all pedestrians using the school accesses.
