This consultation is now closed.

We are seeking your views on a proposal to install a new signalised pedestrian crossing on the A28 Ashford Road outside Spires assisted living residential premises.

This crossing will replace the current non-signalised pedestrian crossing, which does not provide adequate crossing facilities, particularly for vulnerable and mobility impaired users.

A new signal-controlled crossing will give pedestrians sufficient time to cross the road safely whilst traffic is held and will be designed to meet national standards.

What happens after the consultation?

Following the end of the consultation, a report will be compiled summarising the analysis of the feedback you have given. If the decision is taken to proceed with the scheme, construction will take place in Summer 2021.

Before any construction takes place, Start of Works notices will be delivered to local residents and placed on site. Large advance notice boards will also be placed on site to advise passing motorists of the works.
