(DUDLEY ROAD/YORK ROAD, TUNBRIDGE WELLS)

               (7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2019

 

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

 

The Kent County Council in exercise of the powers under Sections 1, 2 and 3(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act of 1984), as amended, and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984, hereby make the following Order:-

The general effect of this Order is to prevent any goods vehicles with a maximum permissible laden weight of which exceeds 7.5 tonne to proceed in those lengths of road specified in the Schedule of the Order. Exemptions are provided in the Order for; access to land & properties, permit holders, vehicles engaged agricultural activities, emergency services, authorities in pursuance of statutory powers and vehicles engaged in such building operations as maintenance, improvement or demolition. Full details of the exemptions are provided in the articles of the Order.

Roads subject to a 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction as stated below in Tunbridge Wells,

 

Dudley Road & York Road; for their entire lengths.

The Order was made on 22 July 2019 and its provisions will come into effect on 29 July 2019.

A copy of the Order, statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, a map indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any Orders which will be amended by the Order may be examined on Mondays to Friday at The Kent County Council, Sessions House, Maidstone, ME14 1XQ; The Kent County Council, Highways Transportation & Waste, Ashford Highway Depot, Henwood Industrial Estate, Unit 4 Javelin Way, Ashford, Kent TN24 8AD during normal office hours or viewed online at www.consultations.kent.gov.uk

 

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
