Kent County Council has received an application, and subsequently made an Order, to amend the legal record of Public Rights of Way, known as the Definitive Map, by correcting the alignment of part of Public Footpath SD297 at New Ash Green.

Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, the County Council may make an Order to modify the Definitive Map where it is considered that a public right of way which is not shown on the map is reasonably alleged to subsist and/or where there is cogent evidence to suggest that no right of way exists along a route shown on the map.

UPDATE 08/03/2021: This Order has now been confirmed and has taken effect.
